Yes, we have seen the progressions introduced at all year levels. Generally, particularly in younger grades, teachers will “unpack” these with students, perhaps generating key words to help build understanding. This is a powerful process, and allows a shared understanding of the progressions (or one progression, or even just one dimension of one [progression? as appropriate.
You can see/infer this process from the image below. I took this in a grade 4 (i think) classroom in Alpine School district in Salt Lake city a while back. The teacher had worked with students to define each of the Cs and then when they displayed those competencies, they received a “leaf” to put on the “C Tree” !
